Thin cheese and bubbles is cool. Question: Would you like to see such item combinations in a official tournament or should we remain only on the most played game modes?

official tournament would be a nice idea. we need to change it up abit for official tournaments. when its thesame every month, the same people win and players dont participate. This will be fun and more will join!

I was thinking about including the new function at creating custom games: "Random" items. Would this be good for official tournaments, and why do you think so?

in my opinion, for more fun and diversity it would be Dirol that in team tournaments there should be a randomiser ever round and points added up for every win?

such as:

round 1:

a, b, c  VS  d, e, f

win         :    lose

+3           :    +0

Round 2:

b, c,f   VS a, d, e

win    :     lose

+3      :   +0

a: 3

b: 6

c: 6

d: 0

3: 0

f: 3

Taking into account more players, you could have say 6 rounds of randomised teams and this way everyone gets 6 games in the tournament and the highest collection of points could maybe go into a final which gets randomised again?

Yes meechy that is a good idea. Any idea to change it up is a good idea.

for tournaments teams- maybe randomise teams per round etc, based on points. So each round  youqualify, uyou end up on a new team each one. Every one will try harder as they will want to progress

So a official tournament with random teams and random items :p sounds cool, but isn't it more likely to create your team with friends? For example, if two people who reached the finals don't like each other and their friends are in the opponent team, but the randomization put them into the same teams, then the chances are high that they will teamkill each other or just play bad on purpose.

I cant see anyone getting to a final playing bad :). but maybe not totally random, I mean have a list at te start from the players that signed up and assign them to teams accordingly. for example

team a - 2k/1800/1800/1600 player

team b- 1900/1900/1800/1700 player

team c - 1500/1900/1800/1800

mix it up abit from the same usual teams. Its a good idea so people can make more friends and find new methods of adapting to new players playing styles

cant go by rank anymore as some players on second acc's etc.

Just randomise the schedule for 10 rounds and each round is random teams and each winning team accumulates 3 points. If you win 11-9 the losing team gets 1 point and the winning team gets 2 points.

After 10 rounds you have covered all areas such as:

1) randomised teams

2) lots of rounds = good solid confirming data

3) everyone gets to play a whole tournament instead of knocked out in round 1 and off to watch sesame street

4) more of a fair chance for all players

these ideas are terrible cos these item combinations doesnt have synergy... u want random champ then u welcome, would be wall items set and big turn also nice before u make random items like thin+ one finger(wtf this combination doesnt make sense)  or sth Smile ignore my comment again like u always do when u know i am right!

Heya, it's great that you put up my favourite gamemode, redspeed green eraser up for vote. I just want to mention that these items are mostly played as a team game, i've never actually tried it as a FFA game, wich is odd..

Anyway i would absolutely die for a redspeed green eraser team tournament, either 3v3 scaled or 4v4. i'm just not quite sure if there would be enough people to sign up, i've been thinking of making an unofficial tournament but would be great to get a real one for obvious reasons..

I kinda like the idea of SnowyXmas, but I want to add some things.

The participants:

It should be like a FFA sign up, with everybody commenting “I’m in” and a 2nd sign up to check if everybody is there(forumcomment/pm between 19:30 and 19:50 or something like this) to avoid unfair teams at  first rounds like 4vs2(+2 didn’t show up)...

The duration:

I think 10 rounds are lasting too long. Remember the mod(s) need to randomize the teams every round and fill the names into the schedule. I think 6-7 rounds will be enough and if 2 people have same amount of points, you got enough 2nd-options to choose the winner(amount of 3 point wins, amount of teampoints(10:3,12:10,...), amount of single player points, ...).

The rules:

As it is an official tournament, I think punishments for players who are teaming with opponents, teamkill, avoid to play, ... should be a lot harder(global ban=all accounts,  >1 month)

About random items:

Could be an interesting idea, but should be a random choice between selected options and not totally random, as some weird items could cause infinite games.

Yes 6 or 7 rounds sounds roughly the right amount.

What you can do as mod to randomise teams is not worry about doing it during the tournament, but before the tournament.

Assign a number to each player and use a random number generator to randomise each of the 6 or 7 rounds.

Then, the teams can be filled out for each round (by the mod) on the spreadsheet. You can grey out Round 2 onwards so nobody can see who they are playing with in round 2 onwards, until round 2 is ready to be played and then the mod can go on and ungrey the area for round 2 and so on. Again, that goes with the *random* theme, the surprise is there every round of who you will be with.

But ultimately, the key enjoyment about a tournament like that is that everyone involved gets to play a tournament from start to finish and collect points.

You can even do rounds of 4v4, 3v3, 2v2 and 1v1 but the player never gets knocked out. You can also change the item setup per round if needs be.

I also agree with your method of sign up. To make sure everyone is there and also, to mention pre-tournament, that there will be strict rules.

Basically I would agree, but I know the cf community. There will be 2 problems left.

1. The randomization has to be public, because the players freak out if this is not the case. Seriously 3 years ago it was no problem to use randomizer and publish the results, but nowadays the people even freak out if they can’t see a draw for place 4/5 at FFA tournament for green and yellow place. Just expect this situation for a whole tourney with random teams. Wait 5 minutes after schedule with first round is published and the first players cry it’s rigged, because they got a “bad” team. Prove me wrong, but I guess we all know the community.

2. Some players will quit before the end, when they see they have no chance to win anymore and I don’t think possible bans will scare all of them.

Anyway the general idea is very good and it would be a nice future tournament.

When we talk about randomising, I want to add an idea that I really like for a long time.

A totally new FFA mode, where the items change every round in just 1 game. For example:

Round 1: No items
Round 2: Thin
Round 3: Red speed
...

The fun thing about this is that it is so random, so every player must be very flexible.

I know the devs won't have time for this, but maybe for in the future of CF4 or CF5 haha I-m so happy

K bye, love <3
