Has anyone played cube, but ultimately preferred snail or rocket to it?

Ive pretty much just bought the few new curve as theyve come available to me, and by now have  my preferences in order-  love robots thin profile, just cant live with its turning radius.  Loved ghost then dragon even more... wish there was a premium version of dragon that was identical exdept for super thin like robot.  Of course that doesnt exist.

Cube seems like a premium version of ghost (nearly identical speed and turning radius, just thinner with tigheter holes).  IDK why everyone talks about learning curve (ive never played it), but it's slower, and with a more forgiving (bigger turning radius) than dragon right? IDK how that is a steeper learning curve, dragon was instantly awesome.  If im missing something pls let me know before i plunge.

Probably smally sample size, but regardless of your style, which is your favorite top shelf curve, and which total have you played wiht?  Im especailly interested in those whovve played cube, and liked something else better.  For some reason i havent seen as many great cube players.  OFc that's because i play in noob games, but just seems like more rocket and random skin players are the ones who dominate game after game atgter game.

Sre there any skins that trend among the best players?  Any thougths appreciated.

So here is the first Free For All tournament of Curve Fever 3. It took place on October 2nd. There were 4 snails, 1 rocket, and 1 dragon. Obviously I have some insight because I played in the final. The 4 snails maximized their space really well while the 1 rocket lost space really fast. Also, since all powerups were activated the rocket was more likely to die to red powerups because it has less time to react. I think it takes A LOT of skill to use a rocket against 4 snails - but this is just my opinion of course. wink

Maybe in the next tournament final we'll see some cubes yes

My progression pretty much started (skipping the earlier curves) with the ghost, which I really enjoyed for the turning radius. I was able to dodge pretty much everything, and I had some really enjoyable moments curving around all over the game field. Following this, my obvious upgrade choice was the dragon. I had the option to go with the rocket and the snail, but I preferred the dragon, so I went with that. I didn't regret it, and I felt like I was able to pursue a playing style that I was comfortable with, and which was different from the playing styles that matched the rocket and the snail.

When the cube was unlocked, I aimed for that. It seemed overall better, and overall balanced. I used it for quite some time, and felt that I was able to compete fairly well with all other curves. However, since the cube is overall well balanced, it isn't the ultimate choice for pursuing niche playing styles. When I was able to unlock the snail and the rocket, I decided it was time to progress in more niche playing styles, such as the aggressive style of the rocket, and the snails ability to utilize space in a way that nearly no other curves are able to.

Looking back, I can't say that I regret purchasing the cube. I don't prefer the rocket or the snail to the cube for what the cube brings: overall balance. But nowadays I find myself altering between the snail and the rocket for the most part. If I play a round of Curve Fever 3 while eating, you'll never find me using the rocket. I will always prefer the snail for that. But when I have the time to focus fully on the game, I enjoy a few aggressive games with the rocket.

Perhaps the cube is too general for my taste now that I have the chance to select more specialized curves, but I surely wouldn't be without it in my selection of curves.

Of course, the tournaments.  So either cube has only been released after the tourney, or at least hasn't been available long enough for the top players to adapt to it by then... But what about now?  Incred, have you tried cube yet, and if so do you now play wth it, or still snail?  What about other top players you play with, will there be more diversity in the next tournament, even if it's just snail and cube?

It is so frustrating when rocket overtakes you, playing robot, but better players know how to position and maneuver their way out of speed traps with snail's tighter turn radius especially.  Probably go that route first.  And probably end up with all three.

Anyway thanks incred, i really appreciate you taking the time.

Doran, that is very similar to my background, and why I like dragon. ExcepI rarely ever full camp, just do the half camps and try to find the next space, so idk if snail would be as good as cube for me from what you describe going forward. I don't think I'll ever be at the level to play those games, the kind that look like that.  Never was in cf2, and it wasn't for a lack of playg time.

anyway I doubt I'll be able to hold off once I hit 20k today, so my impatience will probably make the decison for me.  Thank you.

Got snail, instant buyers remorse when i felt the turning radius coming from lion, and got killed in my first few games (turns out, similarly to the rocket among snails, a snail is in a lot of trouble in a room of multiple rockets), but now it looks like im doing better.  No clue who i played before and who im playing now, but earning coins faster anyway.  Cube will have been well earned, and appreciated, it will seem super fast.  It has at least as good a turning radius as snail right?

Thanks for the advice, super happy with it.  I feel like this was a bed or vehicle purchase lol.

I am 10x more addicted to this game than cf2, well done.

I have tried the Dragon (small radius curves) and the Rocket (super high speed) but I ultimately prefer my Shadow Beast. For me it has good average skills that allow good accuracy. I see very pro players that can perfectly controle de Rocket even on speed powerup. But it is not my case :D

I like CF1. I like CF2. I like CF3. I like CF4.

Yeah cube is pretty awesome. You can't tell by looking at the bars, or I couldn't, but cube's turn radius is actually tighter than snail's.  I missed dragon most of all in that regard going to snail, but don't feel lacking at all with cube.

I think I am now a little weaker player with cube, competively, than I was with snail, but it is much more fun.  Need to learn I can play a little more aggressively with it than I'm used to doing with snail, where I just try to avoid the rockets and dragons and make it to the end game, run out the clock.  That doesn't work as well with cube.

Beyond the thrill of ridiculous speed, never had much fun with rocket.  It has the worst turning radius of the three, and I don't have the skill to control it well enough to be as good as I was even going back to ghost.

@lupine - I can definitely relate. Although a Curve might be better stat-wise, its strategy becomes stale quickly. Not gonna lie - It's really fun to take out the Rocket and start hunting down slower Curves.cheeky

Cube is a little faster than the Snail so you burn space quicker, so possibly maximizing available space is what will ultimately give you the greatest value.
