Christmas special!

Hi Curvers,

It’s almost Christmas! This means that it is time for a Christmas special!

We have big changes for the amount of coins you get per purchase. The following will be the new prices of coins until the end of December:

  • € 4,99 will give you 5500 coins instead of 2000.
  • € 9,99 will give you 12000 coins instead of 5000.
  • NEW OPTION: you can now get 2000 coins for just € 1,99

We wanted to try out different coins prices for a very long time. It was just way too expensive to buy coins. For example the color Artic cost 6000 coins, so to be able to get Artic with real money you had to pay 10 euro to get 5000 coins and in addition you had to play Curve Fever for 1000/60 = 16.66 Hours. (This last bit is actually quite ok) But let’s not start about the 20 euro package! After December we will evaluate these results from these changes and decide what we will do with coins in the future.

We think that Curve Fever is more than just a simple flash game, but having to spend 10 euro and 17 hours to get a single color in a browser flash game was just absurd; especially for the new players who don’t have a lot of time to get all the coins by playing games.

We also have taken a look at which icons, powerups and colors you like the most and which you don’t. Based on these factors, we have given many items has an adjustment in price.

Happy Christmas everybody!

We consider the color white to be bit more special than the old price suggested. Therefore it is now a bit more expensive.

I dont think its a good idea that you can just buy coins as a shortcut to colours, icons and powerups. It is wrong in my opinion. Some of us put a lot of hours and lots of effort into grinding coins, so its sad that someone whom have spent 0 days, 0 hours and 0 minutes on the game can just buy himself 100.000 coins with real life money if he wants. It shouldnt be possible to get 'ahead' of the game by just throwing some money. At least do something / add something that cannot be purchased with real life money. That is just my opinion on it. Have a nice day and a merry christmas everyone.

Sincerely,

You are not able to buy ranks, so you are not able to buy a higher position.
It's not pay to win in Curve Fever.

I didnt say anywhere that it is pay to win in CurveFever, but since the only purpose coins have in this games is cosmetics in one way or another its sad to see you can just buy away that problem in my opinion. :)

It is funny that you point it out. Actually we did consider the fact for grinders (people who grind coins). For grinders nothing happened. And in the past people could also buy cosmetics with money. It just got a lot cheaper to buy it with euros during christmas. In general, most prizes stayed the same, or got cheaper. In some cases, the prizes got higher. But overall it stayed the same or got cheaper: Arctic, Rasta, Purple, All powerups and almost all icons got cheaper in coins too.

So, if you want to grind, you grind, and if you want to spend money, you can spend money. In the end we also need to make some money, and if we can do so by price reductions, than this is much better than the other way around.

I am aware that you are a business and you are trying to make money, nothing wrong with that. I just mean both sides should be complimented. You could for example keep certain colours unavailable to be purchased with anything else than game credits/coins and then have some that could be bought with both "purchased" coins and then "earned" coins. Just a thought. Smile

This would be very tough to do. How would the computer be able to keep track of how many coins you bought and how many credits you earned? Besides that, it makes sense they did the coin buying thing since they need money to keep the curvefever (and curveradio and idk what) servers up and running! That's also why they added premium too!

And you got to admit, buying items, colors or icons won't really help you ingame. Especially since the powerups you bought can be used against you. I don't really see the problem. Wink

That's definitly not a stupid question since we haven't given any update about this. So I'll do it now:

The offers will be available for an undefined period and we won't change them back anytime soon.

haha why 'chistmas special' then? I think that you guys actually got more people who bought coins  from this christmas special offer then normally am I right?

Maybe because their first plan wasn't to make it for an undefined period, but then they thought: 'Hm, you know what? Let's make this 'action' available for an undefined period!' (Which I find a very good decision btw Smile )
