you know it: if there are only two players left, the chances that one takes an eraser and the game will continue for some minutes is high.
So my suggestion: extending the eraser powerup:
if there are only 2 player left, the screen will be erased, but all lines will be redrawn! such that you kind of have a replay runnning in the background, while the last players are fighting.
if the replayed lines hit something, they are not going to die, but just fligh long anoth until they can be drawn persistent...
This is a blue powerup and when you take it the screen turns 90 degrees to the left. When you take it again and again and again you have the normal screen as now :D
ok there is allready a screen flip powerup which switches the sides, vertically, horizontally or through the midpoint. your suggestion sould be placed there also.
I m also thinking of a variant of the screen flip powerup: only the lines will be flipped, the powerups stay at the same place, so you can get powerups that are on the other side of the screen, or another variant: the powerup just change the positions of the powerups, without redrawing the lines

konecHarry: The bouncer idea already existed under 33. Bumper. I added your extended version of the eraser under 3.2. Added your flipping ideas under 16.4 and 16.5 in horizontal flipping mode.
Only slightly related: an area where players never draw a curve.
So there would be a small circle (or any other form) in the playing field where players can go through as often as they want. (obviously this area would have to be smaller than a full curve)
This might also be a sort of pseudo-power-up, which does not get 'picked up' and disappear but instead remains where it is and can be passed over for as long as it stays there (which might be a limited time interval)
I added this: The outer circle of the area may indicate the time remaining.
Erasing snake (green)
This is like "Eater" except to clarify that in addition to being able to "eat" through other lines, the erasing snake actually erases them and leaves no line of its own, i.e. others should be able to follow the path of the erasing snake exactly. The width of the erased line should be the width of a regular hole.
This powerup does not give immunity upon hitting sides.
It will also create a dimension of strategy so that holes can be created in other people's camps to be exploited.
Controlled gaps powerup (insert more creative name here :P): when collected, the player will be able to leave a gap on his own line, by pressing the designated key (space for example). For a limited times of course (1-2, even 3). The gap would appear in front of your line, right when you pressed the button. Also, to be more useful, it could be a bit larger than standard gaps.
We all know those lucky situations when you're about to hit a line, and then suddenly! there is a gap and you're saved. It would be the same thing, but controlled :).
Nitro: the same thing like in car racing games. When you collect this powerup, a small nitro-meter would appear which shows the amount of nitro you have. It could be actioned by pressing space button.
I would like to point out that any form of AI (Artificial Intelligence) in powerups is not possible for a very long time, so I won't add these suggestions to the list, sorry...
As for suggestions which include the use of any other button then the 2 steering keys, for example spacebar, these suggestions I won't add either. Two reasons. First, it will overcomplicate the simple and elegant gamedesign. Second, playing with more people on one keyboard gets a lot harder. I hope you'll understand this.
I will add this information to the introduction of this thread.

The Prince of Persia effect described in a post above (seem to be unable to find it), that all players go back in time ~10 seconds (actually lag does almost the same haha, but that's an unwanted power-down). Players who died in this period are able to play again and you get like a 2 seconds big hole.
I don't think this powerup will come soon, it requires a lot of extra code, like a replay system. This is also extra load for the server. But I like the idea too :)

The server must remember the last 10 seconds played, and then not show any of that powerup for 10 seconds at least. (to prevent going back in time further)

What about a freeze powerup?
The enemy players are frozen and they can't move for a few seconds.
Example:
In the first photo, it looks like red will lose.
But then it picks the freeze powerup and the pink and green player are frozen.
Then, the pink player will lose.
i like the bounce powerup!

a powerup making you win the game ! if you catch it you win, avaiable for green and red, if you take the red one enemy wins!

Auto pilot: the name tells a lot. Not sure how exactly would work, or how it would be useful or fun. It's just an idea to be extended
